Uploading YouTube and Vimeo Links

If your municipality posts meeting recordings to YouTube or Vimeo, you can paste the video URL directly into MuniMins instead of uploading a file.

How to do it

Click New Minutes, fill in the meeting details, and paste the video URL in the URL field (instead of choosing a file). Click Upload & Process.

What MuniMins does with the link

The platform pulls the audio from the video automatically. If the video has existing captions, MuniMins may use those as a starting point for transcription, which can speed up processing.

Requirements

• The video must be publicly accessible (not private or unlisted with restricted access).
• Supported platforms: YouTube and Vimeo.
• The full video URL is needed (e.g., https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...).

YouTube and Vimeo links are available on all plans, including Basic. This is the easiest way to try MuniMins if your municipality already posts meeting videos online.
