Identifying Speakers in the Transcript
After processing, the transcript shows color-coded speaker labels — Speaker A, Speaker B, etc. Your job is to tell MuniMins who each speaker actually is.
How to assign a speaker
- Click any speaker tag in the transcript (the colored label like "Speaker A").
- A popup appears with a search field. Start typing a name.
- MuniMins shows matching board members and participants. Select the right person.
- Every instance of that speaker updates throughout the transcript. You only do it once per speaker.
If the person isn't in your system — type their full name and select "Use as new name." After you save, MuniMins asks if you'd like to add them as a board member or participant. Skip this for one-time speakers like members of the public.
Pre-matched speakers. If MuniMins has voice profiles for your board, some speakers may already be pre-filled with names and a confidence level (high, medium, or low). Review these and confirm or correct them.
Save your work. After assigning all speakers, click Confirm Speakers. This updates the minutes with correct names and strengthens voice profiles for future meetings.
